Exploring Dale Hollow Lake: A Hidden Gem in Tennessee
Welcome to Dale Hollow Lake, one of Tennessee's most breathtaking natural treasures! As a guest at Lakeside Inn at Dale Hollow Lake, you're perfectly positioned to experience everything this magnificent lake has to offer.
The Lake That Changes Lives
Dale Hollow Lake isn't just a body of water—it's a transformative experience. Just ask Eddie Cravens, a fishing guide who relocated from Indiana after falling in love with the lake.
"This lake has changed me. I was in Indiana and I was hating life. I had a good job. I worked at a company doing plumbing for years and years. I fought traffic every day. I got tired of, I got burned out and coming here, it's just changed me. It's changed me in a good way."
Many visitors find themselves returning year after year, drawn by the lake's pristine waters and the peaceful atmosphere that sets Dale Hollow apart from busier lakes closer to metropolitan areas.
World-Class Fishing Experience
Dale Hollow Lake is renowned for its exceptional fishing, particularly for smallmouth bass. The lake offers a unique fishing experience that changes with the seasons.
"I catch more. I do catch bigger. I just do better. Fall and spring, my best time." Eddie explains about his preferred fishing seasons on Dale Hollow.
Richard DeVries, owner of Eastport Marina and admin of the Facebook page "Fish Dale Hollow," shares similar sentiments about the seasonal nature of fishing on the lake: "I mean, if you're not fishing super deep, you really can't catch a whole lot. Now there's probably people who do go shallow and catch in summer, but if you're not deep cranking or like doing a deep drop shot or a really deep Net rig, it's really hard to get by. Like you said, the fall in the spring, it's really the best time to fish in my opinion on Dale Hollow."
Something for Everyone
While Dale Hollow Lake is a fisher's paradise, it offers so much more. The expansive waters provide ample space for various water activities, from wakeboarding and skiing to peaceful pontoon rides.
Bailey Pennecuff, podcast host and long-time Eastport Marina employee, explains why Dale Hollow attracts visitors who pass numerous other lakes to get here: "People that come down to Dale Hollow, right? Okay. So the people that complain the most about the drive or people from Nashville, they have to drive two hours to get to us. But they pass like six places that are really nice before they get to us."
What makes Dale Hollow special? "There's enough lake here that everybody can give each other respect. And, you know, we can all enjoy ourselves." Eddie points out.
